At Vector, we believe that commercial success and positive environmental impact are complementary, not competing. Our mission is to drive brand growth through the Amazon ecosystem and to leverage that success to fund meaningful climate and biodiversity work.
To put that into practice, we have partnered with Pinwheel, a pioneering business dedicated to repairing the planet through investment in rigorously vetted global projects.
About our Pinwheel partnership
Pinwheel identifies, evaluates and funds environmental projects spanning ocean conservation, land restoration, reforestation, and carbon removal. Every project in their portfolio is carefully assessed to ensure that impact is real, measurable and lasting.
Through our partnership, Vector's commercial activity directly funds this work. It goes further than that, too: our brand partners can choose to match our commitment and select their own projects, enabling them to take an active role in driving a more sustainable future through their investment on Amazon.
The projects making a difference
Turtle hatchling protection
In coastal habitats around the world, sea turtle populations face ongoing threats from habitat loss, poaching and environmental degradation. This programme works to safeguard threatened species through hands-on conservation, habitat protection and restoration — giving hatchlings the conditions they need to survive and reach the ocean.
Rainwater harvesting: bunds
In some of the most challenging environments on earth, desertification is destroying land that communities depend on. The rainwater harvesting programme uses bunding - the construction of earthwork barriers that capture and retain rainfall - to restore dryland areas and make previously unproductive land viable again. It is a practical, scalable technique with transformative long-term effects on both local ecosystems and livelihoods.
Enhanced rock weathering
Enhanced rock weathering is a nature-based carbon removal technology that works by spreading crushed silicate rock onto agricultural land. As the rock weathers, it draws CO2 from the atmosphere and locks it away permanently in stable mineral form. Unlike some carbon removal approaches, enhanced rock weathering also improves soil quality - delivering a dual benefit of carbon sequestration and improved agricultural productivity.
Why this matters to us
The advertising and e-commerce sectors are resource-intensive, and at Vector we think it is important to acknowledge that and to do something meaningful about it.
Our Pinwheel partnership is not a carbon offsetting exercise. It is a deliberate commitment to funding projects that reduce emissions, remove legacy carbon, and restore ecosystems that have been damaged by human activity. The diversity of the portfolio - spanning oceans, drylands and farmlands - reflects our belief that environmental restoration requires action across multiple fronts.
We are proud to be working with Pinwheel and with the brand partners who choose to join us in this commitment. From ocean floors to open farmland, the progress being made is real, and it is growing.
